Children’s Harmonica Workshop (sponsored by Hohner) - 12:00-1:00
Join Romp veteran presenter Art Woodward for a fun and innovative harmonica workshop. Space is limited, and harmonicas are first come first serve.
“At the tender age of 5, my daddy placed a harmonica in my mouth and said: "breathe son." I did. From then on I was hooked. I learned the harp and played songs note-for-note -folk style. As a teenager, a friend told me about playing cross harp for blues. That changed everything. Nowadays you might find me with two different keyed harmonicas on the harmonica holder around my neck - one for the folk sound and one to change the texture of the piece and add the blues. As a way to honor my dad and a way to introduce this instrument to future generations, I began teaching kids how to play the harmonica with my, Art the dude Hohner-sponsored Harmonica workshops” back in 2010. I’ve given these workshops at major festivals, street events, and private functions. This year will mark my 14th year giving the workshop at ROMP. I am thankful for this opportunity and look forward to it.” - Art the Dude
